so true! Enjoy your visit. I think uuu and the two from vnug drop by occasionally, but lore production is pretty low outside of the steady notes from /awdat/ and Lorelei island. I've been quite busy irl myself, haven't lored much.

The way I did them was take a rough reference of the topology map in the OP, opening a ridiculously big canvas in CSP and outline the border on a new layer with the low res map under it as a reference (here I adjust the border how I want, keeping whatever territory I add roughly the same to the territory I take away, just squiggle away)
Then I took a topology blush I found on the CSP store and went wild with it, adding layers of height where I want them, again with the low res topology map as a ref.
Hydro comes next, and that one is even more fun. Always go high to low, combine tributaries but seldom split them into distributaries on country scale outside of deltas, lakes always have a distributary otherwise it's a salt lake.
With that and the biome map you can now start putting down settlements. You want them near some water source or otherwise important resource spots, but mostly water.
And now you have all the resources to start making small blurbs about every single town and city you have, you can start making trade networks and developing culture, build up animal territories etc.

Amelia Ghoston is different from the other Amelia's that visit the great nation of /awat/ for this one actually resides here. At some point this Ame hitched a ride on another Ame's time portal and made her way here. Officials say she lives in an abandoned house in the nearby farm areas near the city. She is virtually harmless but is only ever active at night due to the sun making her basically invisible as compared to being transparent like she is normally. It is said she was an Ame that experimented with soul transfer and accidently left her body and couldn't find a way to get back into her body. She likes to scare passerbys in the area for fun and is virtually harmless. During the fall and winter months she is a lot more active outside, especially during halloween where her empty house is actually decorated to actually look like a haunted mansion and scare trick or treaters for fun. She is quite popular with the locals and people even visit her sometime. Due to not technically being dead, grim reapers are unable to reap her essence such as case number 444. Weirdly enough she can still physically touch objects which is why she has a video game console in her empty house. Watson Industry officials have actually retrieved her original body and have been trying to figure out a way to return her soul back but for no Amelia Ghostson is in no hurry to return to her body.

Sure thing, the main large desert that isn't inside another country would be the one neighbouring /gem/ here. Viti is a bit warmer and accordingly wetter than Earth, so it doesn't have a continental-size desert like the Sahara, but that desert is pretty big, plenty large enough to get lost and die in.

That's for hot deserts, but if you're okay with a cold desert this region west of /kanata/ could work too. There's the other cold desert east of /vspo/, but this one doesn't neighbour a holo thread. That one would be more comparable to the Gobi desert.

Yeah, if you look at the world map you can see that we might have had a large desert west of /vtrp/ like Earth had with Africa, but since Viti is more moist those coasts ended up wet enough to be forests and the drier climates like savannahs and deserts got pushed further inland and are smaller.

Since Grant knows about deep space age pneumatics I'm going to have him work with Laia on a super secret project to refurbish the library's ventilation systems.

The library is in danger. There are rooms underground that are not receiving proper ventilation. So moisture and mold is building up. This is why we need deep space age pneumatics to vent the library with minimal power.

I generally use the special brushes just for the inside topology, not for outlines of islands/borders. Those I draw in by hand so I have more control. It's pretty simple once you get used to it, but it doesn't hurt to spend a bit just zooming in on different spots on google earth to get a feel for how water carves up the land or deposits sediments.
I noted on the pic a few things that I stay away from when drawing in islands

Repeating patterns. Idk I just think they look ugly, tho you can at times explain them with things like impact craters or some such

too wild of a coast. Water does a pretty good job of eroding rock away, and while on smaller scales you can still go a bit more experimental with it, on larger scales I usually tend to stick to making the shores more mild if that makes sense

Amelia Watson of timeline 76 seems like your regular Ame from any other timeline, but this one seems to be on a more, gun happy. She's always carrying around what looks to be a revolver type of hand gun and insists that she shows it off. She does normal things that other Ame's do, eats gluten free bread, sight sees, enjoys the company of the residents of /awat/ but seems to always want to go to the local gun range and shoot the targets with her personal revolver. She even tends to go to the farm areas and asks if she could shoot some cans around. Officials say she is of no threat to anyone and tends to shoot things recreationally. Locals who are into this sort of thing tend to enjoy her company the most and even invite her to shoot with them since they enjoy the company. This Ame is invited to Watson industries from time to time to test out some of the latest fire arms during their testing phase in the Joshu R&D section. Though she is usually warned that these experimental guns could blow her arm clean off. She seems to enjoy the idea of testing dangerous items. There is one time of the year during what we call "Heat Wave" season where she brings fireworks and shoots them up into the night sky. Its a big gathering for /awat/ and its enjoyed by all. There is also the case of this Ame not enjoying being prodded or questioned by the local officials as she thinks they are untrustworthy, despite the fact they are appointed to their fairly by our leaders, we hope that one day she can trust them as much as we do.
