Unironically just the trip she went on right after her debut, most of your subs happen on your first few months and after that it's a slower climb and she debuffed herself by default back then.
She'd 100% be at 800k by now if that hadn't happened.
Hell if anything she's actually speeding up, she spent most of 2024 around the high 500k mark and as soon as 2025 started she started gaining subs a lot faster, she only hit 600k in january and has gotten another 55k subs since, at the pace she's going she should be hitting 700k in early 2026 at the latest, later this year if she gets any sort of boost from an event.

Her growth is slower than the rest of Advent but not really by a huge margin on average (at least when you consider the perception of popularity), it's really mainly that early vacation that hurt her sub growth the most.

Apparently, Doki's done playing around with her indulgent games like Dynasty Warriors or Onimusha, and wants to try focusing on growth the rest of the year to potentially reach 1m before new years.
She's got pretty much everything set up now on the backend with two platforms to pull from and merch/connections all online, so I'm curious if she'll be able to get sub momentum back if she goes full force.

I'd expect 1m in a year. Maybe, but not guaranteed. But so far there hasn't really been THAT much advertisement. Unless you're really deep into the vtuber scene (which most of gura's fanbase was not), you likely have no idea she's even coming back.

If she's actually able to come back in full force and start streaming full time, collaborating regularly with others to get the word out that she's back? Then yeah she could grow pretty big again. With how hush hush and quiet her return seems to be, I'm guessing that's not actually her goal.
