Zen has repeatedly expressed a lot of frustration with the lack of support from Vshojo.If they can't provide the support she needs of course she's going to leave. Every other month she starts asking chat if they'd still watch her if she left.

This is sad and all but this a huge loss to Vshojo in regards to viewership. Vshojo with Zen made up three to four(Michi sometimes is in the top 10) of the biggest English speaking vtubers. In addition to losing Geega and Matara who were decently sized themselves, Vshojo loses their title of being the top of Twitch vtubing. There would be the times where all top 5 live vtubers were Vshojo members that just won't be happening anymore. I really gotta wonder who these new recruits are and if they can mend the gap Zen leaves.

SNIVS exploded and we still dont really know why it did at the time it did, but signs point towards Mouse just not putting in the effort to maintain relationships. Zen's clique expanded, especially once Haruka and Geega joined, and then once Henya joined everyone loved her enough to have some great unity for awhile. But Froot has gone missing, Haruka just wont stream, Geega got addicted to GTA, and Zen has essentially been left alone as Mouse continues to try and climb the social ladder with fleshies.

There are no downsides to VShojo, but there also are no upsides to VShojo if you have other ways to do your merch and sponsors.
Zen is big enough to do that herself and has been openly pissy about sponsors for a while. Geega didn't like having to go through other people. Mata replaced them with Bricky.
On the other hand, Ama joined specifically because she didn't want to do any of that herself.

VShojo best bet right now, is to actually follow Zen's advice, hire new blood, the problem is that new blood probably expected to be next to the likes of GEEGA, Mata or Zen. But many also would like to be next to Amalee, Mouse or Henya, so they have a 50/50 that talents will still join. Once new blood is hired, they can actually form them into being like NOVA, and instead of jaded talents, refreshing talents can actually work together and finally sell VShojo as a brand. Just need to expect they don't do the same mistakes.

Unfortunately as you have seen, talent freedom means that members can reject doing unity content, it also means that they can bring non-members close to boost their viewership without signing a contract.
VShojo is something that can benefit everyone if it works the way it should, but members are far too shortsighted to put their individual gains ahead of any group building. It might work for a while, but eventually there's going to be members who would abuse it and break the model.
Unironically, every member would be worse off on their own if VShojo implodes. Everyone would lose viewership and face stronger competition from other indies because guess what, 1+1 individually will always be 2 without a group branding, it can never be 2.5 or 3. VShojo was that 1+1=2.5 anomaly, now that it has been broken you would never have something similar again.
