>>101676289That outlook is what leads to a lot of doubts about Hololive's longterm relevance or this industry's longterm relevance. They want to pretend there's this world of characters that are not based on real-world people but the second something controversial happens with the real-world person, the character never existed. This means there's no potential in the future for genuine games that include everyone, for manga that can't be cancelled, for any sort of anime anything. Any sort of complete merch set of anything. Because they shitcan things at the slightest sign of controversy and don't give a fuck what the fans would prefer. Noel held out for a really long time on Rushia, it was weird and when she removed her, she mentioned it was finally time to move on but didn't say anything negative. She was absolutely pressured to remove her (by who is the question, did Gen 3 members not like it, did Cover not like it or did "fans" she encountered while egosearching not like it).
I'm not really a Gen 3 fan and the image quality is a little too low for me to confirm but as far as I can tell Rushia is literally still the main banner on Noel's Twitter. There's five people in that image and I can recognize Flare, Pekora and Marine so that one on the end must be Rushia or some random who replaced her in Gen 3. Rushia is also clearly in Pekora's twitter banner. Marine is obviously too important to show her gen on her Twitter and Flare hates her gen but Pekora and Noel at least still respect Rushia more than the fanbase. Miko recently mentioned Rushia in a non-negative way rather than avoiding her name when reviewing a fan's room so it's definitely only certain Holos that hate Rushia and all dramanigs in the fanbase that never watch streams hate her. I didn't like her but I still find it pathetic when things like Holocure do a 180 and pretend she never existed.
