Lore is fun only in that it works to give fans and talent something to joke about and talk about for the first few weeks as the talent gets their footing to figure out how they want to handle and interact with their chat. Other than that it's just a window dressing that often gets forgotten about outside of special occasions.
As for debuts, they're usually stiff as fuck, and Saba just didn't do a rundown of likes and dislikes because everyone already knows. She did however talk about what she'd like to do for content, which is a good thing. I'd much rather be watching someone who has a lot of passion and interest in what they're streaming than someone who plays whatever the newest pile of trash is that came out or got popular.
And if your main issue is that someone who barely streamed for years had such an explosive return, it's just the way casual viewers work. Gura was the face, most people were introduced in the West to vtubing through her, and most watched a bit of her content at some point.
