Long story short: Vshojo is barely breaking even, due to poor investment choices via merch providers and general tax issues given they operate out of San Fran. Brave has decided to spare the techbros and buy them out to maintain a greater foothold on the industry, whilst also obtaining a name brand that they can assign to current talent.

Zen leaving isn't due to merch conflicts or percentage cuts, but rather what the future holds. The newest gen planned will be placed into Brave contracts and will not retain the IPs, locking them down to Vshojo. This upset Zen and it's why she has been granted her departure. Meanwhile other talents (such as Ironmouse and Froot) will be given special status to keep them present to ensure a smooth transition. Henya is reported to be most excited at the Brave prospect, given she will be in a featured shorts series with HIMEHINA to help promote the Vshojo takeover.

If nepohiring is "stupid", then buying corpos is "retarded"

Even from a business perspective, this looks like money laundering because they spent more cash on buying corpos who are already irrelevant instead of promoting their Vspo branch to be half as popular as Nijisanji

Even if they choose to buy VShojo, they could compete with NijiEN but that is a pretty fucking low standard

Brave US would be better buying out Brave EU to save Globie from being destroyed from the inside by incompetent Japanese staff desu.
Also buying VShojo won't work out. It will turn into another Idol situation where the talent with sense will immediately quit and go indie and eventually the remaining ones get absorbed into ChromaSHIT

The "seeking for opportunities" is a funny non-sense excuse when you mix it with "there is nothing wrong with VShojo"

If there is nothing wrong with Vshojo, then why would you need to get out of that agency, knowing that you will do nothing different as an indie anyway (with IP and channel intact and shit). Also we are talking about VShojo the "talent freedom" agency here, what newer opportunities can there be that makes VShojo a disadvantage for them?

>4/20/24 - Michi joins
>7/2/24 - Vshojo JP auditions open
>11/14/24 - New Vshojo JPs join
>01/26/25 - Amalee joins

Ironmouse has been ghosting Zen for a good while, to the point that it was actually a recurring topic in vsj in the days leading up to Zen leaving.

The "tame" theory is that Zen has a reputation for collabing with all sorts of unruly scum, while Ironmouse is hyper-ultra-selective about who to associate with. Didn't have the guts to tell Zen to fuck off with the collab invites, so she just ghosted instead.
The spicier theory, since this is not the first time someone has lowkey implied that Ironmouse is a bitch after leaving Vshojo, would be some kind of mean girls drama bullshit. Who knows.

and the thing with Idol is that Brave was at least able to recoup a little money because they owned the IPs and the girls with value wisely opted out. Besides that, it was a disaster acquisition. Brave bought Idol to boost their EN sub pool think they were getting 1,200,000+ sub count to their harem, only for them to lose 1,000,000 of them by talent refusing to work with them and deciding to go indie

what does one get when they buy vshojo? what do they own? the vshojo name? logo? they sure as hell don't own any IPs

They killed that whole branch in the crib and even dragged out males,

It's actually a good idea to announce a rebrand at an industry convention. That is the exact place they should do it, but like you said the execution was abysmal.

They should have announced the change was coming a month in advance and has all new branding on everything at the con. Just confusing stuff. And they have gotten rid of gens and just made up new thrown together units with girls. Making up rules as they go along it is the blind leading the blind

here's what I don't get:
why should vshojo *need* all that much coordination to begin with? it's specifically an agency, not a management company. the only reason they do anything idol-y in the first place is because holo set the precedent that vtubers do that most of a decade ago and mouse likes singing. it's not hard to believe that vshojo doesn't have much in the way of wrangling, but why the fuck would they?
everything I understand about the place indicates that its entire operation was always predicated on incredibly slim margins and low operating costs. they were never run like an actual corporation so much as gunrun's pet project, and it made sense that way.
obviously all the senior staff leaving recently and now the one corpo-brained talent and zen the beating heart show that it's going to hell, but I don't buy that this is somehow because vshojo needs to be bought out. it's a stupid sell, a stupid buy, and while I am KEENLY aware of Brave's INFINITE stupidity, I don't know why they would want an actual shell of a brand when the small vtuber-watching community is well aware what Brave does to corpos it acquires. the *only* thing I can think Brave would get with this acquisition would be Mouse's audience, who would probably watch cocomelon if she put it on for them. even before that, why the fuck would gunrun suddenly need to cash out and ruin everything he did rather than just dissolve it? if he was going to be greedy then should've happened sooner.
tl;dr This reads like Proctologist spreading random shit because his doxsite's been slow since they tried to memoryhole phase's latent terrorist fans.

>The "tame" theory is that Zen has a reputation for collabing with all sorts of unruly scum, while Ironmouse is hyper-ultra-selective about who to associate with.
There's no way that some of the fleshies that Mouse collabs with are not worse than anyone that Zen would bring on stream
