I'm willing to compromise with you that PL-related activities do harm Brave by demonstrating a lack of talent faith, but given Brave didn't formally discipline her (to our knowledge) this shouldn't have any bearing on the discussion. I do agree that based on what we've seen Coni has been a damaging influence on the other talents, enabled in large part she feels comfortable calling Brave on their bullshit _because_ she's managed to create a successful independent brand for herself.

Ultimately none of this has any bearing on the underlying argument of whether an IP has value after the talent leaves. I'd argue that there's perhaps some short-term value that can still be extracted via collabs, but replacing the puppeteer has been repeatedly shown to not prop up the character, and realistically I don't believe Brave has any plans for the Kai IP. The reasonable market value of the Kai Saikota IP is effectively zero for anyone except Kai, and the fact Brave isn't willing to just take the loss in exchange for the long-term play of repairing their brand image is just another sign that you don't want to end up working for Brave as a talent (at least not after milking them for the networking/training opportunities).

Right, it's not off the bat, but the schedule for depreciation can work on a shorter term schedule. You can't claim as much of a percentage of the total amount to take off but the higher figure of the IP means that you'll still get something like 20-30k for the model which is what I estimate myself assuming you double the amount Brave offered during the buyout because of the 3D investment.
