Idol is basically dead in spirit, after yesterday's graduations, they have 3 talents left from their 2nd generation that people identify with pre-acquisition idol as a company excluding the invader gen and ES who were not there long enough for people to get used to them. 3/14 plus the rebrand is enough for it to be a completely different enough company now but I do agree technically, it's not.

I recall an argument being made that BondEN dissolving their operations on Youtube to establish their REALITY division and move into IRIAM made it difficult to justify greying them out. But since no one cares enough to go onto IRIAM and one of their waves got transferred over to Lucid, this entire agency's structure is so confusing that it's hard to determine whether they're even active or not.

It makes no sense ot do it by date of incorporation, because the time from that to debut when the public gets to know is just too inconsistent. I mean, you can also do it by when they did announcements of a debut but god what a pain that would be over checking that when not every company used social media to advertise and etc. I think you should go by debut date since that is when the company actually starts doing the activity they are known under.

As other anons have previously mentioned, it’s probably best to do away with putting AniLive and IRIAM on the chart since they’re not really agencies and more of platforms that host them instead.

Because they’re platforms, they can get away with debuting dozens and dozens of cookie-cutter vtubers and perpetuate their existence as “agencies” when they’re really not so I think it’s best to just get rid of them both since they don’t really count.

Plus, it cleans up the chart.

It’s a streaming platform and mobile app solely for vtubers. They’re not “not” a vtuber agency which enables them to skirt by the other agencies via being a streaming service for them and they can debut hundreds of copy-and-pasted vtubers every month without any backlash from the wider public and to also show to their investors that people are using the app. Imagine if Youtube made their own vtubers and debuted them under their platform exclusively; it wouldn’t really count as an agency but it just makes the company appear more valuable to investors by doing a bunch of shit even though they lose money on it.
