Race is a thing.
There's reasons why when you're an organ donor they try to give your organs to people of the same race because there's a lesser chance of rejection.
Race is a descriptor of general genetic heritage which informs a huge amount about everything you are. The general rule of thumb is that everything that isn't physical is 50% genetically determined.

Literally all taxonomic classifications are relative except species and pretending that because they are relative therefore they have no practical meaning would imply that there's no difference between you and a tree.

Siblings can have different blood types which is a substantial difference in genetics despite being as close as you can be genetically without being a twin. Doesn't really mean anything practical. North Europeans are predisposed to higher visceral fat make them better at surviving cold climates and swimming. That is a practical piece of genetic diversity.
The total amount of genetic diversity doesn't matter. It's the practical implications of that genetic diversity that ultimately divide groups into distinct races.
