average yuro salary before and after taxation
>Before €41,000 $44,280 USD
>After €28,200. $30,456 USD
They may have free health care, but they do need it because with those salaries, they can't buy shit. Not even teenagers charge this low in part-time jobs

that's a retarded way to view it because buying power is not just income and the difference in income between countries is huge

We don't have free healthcare and education. We pay for it with taxes. I know it's semantics but I think people say it's free to confuse sub 80 iq voters.

NA streams are past midnight, so I mainly watch JP streams. But in general I think Europeans are a bit more conservative with money and the blind consumerism and tipping/charity culture that Americans have isn't really part of the culture, though I don't know how it'll be when the younger generation becomes adults, because they seem pretty brainwashed by influencers.

You should ask Yagoo why it took him until 2024 to debut more HoloEN members who stream in prime Euro time.
In the first 4 years of HoloEN existence, Kiara was the only member who bothered to get any Euro fans, and maybe Ina was also an option for those in the UK, but every other member streamed at 1-5AM. If you didn't like Kiara, your only options were to watch VODs, switch to HoloJP/HoloID, or to look for other vtubers outside Hololive. Personally, I started watching HoloJP even though my JP was and still is limited. Others went on to watch Phase, other corpos, or indies. Barely anyone would drop their oshi after 3-4 years of supporting them just because Hololive now has someone in Justice for the Euros.

Money isn't an issue because vtuber fans are usually single men in their 20-30s who mostly spend money on entertainment. I'm from a poor EU country, and I used to have 4-5k USD of disposable income every single month after taxes, rent, and groceries were paid for. All of my friends that are single have 1k USD to spend on random shit every month as a bare minimum, but they'd never send a SC to a vtuber. Even among those that are into anime and games, sending SC is seen as a waste of money because you're not getting anything out of it. Membership? Sure. Merch? As long as shipping is reasonable.
Sorry, but tipping is simply not that popular here.

I guess this is the total of superchats for all EN gens? Is "EUROPE" currency just all eu currencies added together? So basically Myth got 15M in 5 years, Promise 17M in 4 years, Advent 17M in 2 years and Justice got 12M in 1 year. Seems to me its growing with new gens.

That explanation doesn't really work. Why is advent at 250kk place despite being relatively recent too?

I bought games on steam for 80 euros during this sale.
I also waste money on gacha fairly often. I dont know why, but I just dont give a shit about donating to vtubers.
I remember I still played League when I started watching vtubers, and I would buy a skin + a battle pass both for my main and my alt account, and I still wouldnt superchat.

I believe these are since Advent debut. If it was from Myth debut they would be winning easily no contest. SCs during Mythmania were wild.

That would make sense. And I guess numbers are the respective currencies converted into yen. 1-2 million USD per gen seems sensible.

Anime has never had the same popularity in Europe as it had in US, it's only been getting more popular now the last few years. Also, 90% of holo en streamers stream late evenings or in the middle of the night. I would never have started watching EN if I hadn't been a NEET back in 2021-2022

Europeans don't worship corporations to same level as US Americans. There is no point donating to someone that already has 3x as much as she would ever need.

Europe is just a smaller consumer market in general. People buy less stuff and they do it with less money. They also market to them less for this reason.

France has a strong comic and animation culture of their own, and even then anime is not as popular there as in America.

It absolutely isn't, and all the stats, the one in OP included, prove that.
