I don't want the vtuber model to look like it's "in the game", I want the model to be in the corner, as a separate entity form the game screen, at the same consistent lighting. Having the model constantly changing hues and shades is fucking distracting as all fuck, and sometimes makes the model hard to see. Adaptive lighting and stuff like the glowing eyes mentioned further in the thread is a setting that the puppeteer can set in VTube studio. It can be done with literally any Live2D model of any quality. If your model was just one or two layers, you could still set it to do that. I’m a total fucking idiot and I was able to do it. The tutorials for doing it on YouTube are like only 10-15 mins long each.
I don’t like the Holo rigging either, but this isn’t a rigging related issue. This has to do with the puppeteer making certain choices. That said, a lot of the rigging related Holo issues may be solvable on the puppeteer’s end. There’s a lot of settings to fine tune that have to be done for any model that the rigger literally cannot do for the puppeteer. For instance, stuff involving eye detection and thresholds for things like blinking or whatever. I don’t know. My friend did my settings for me IRL while I just did what they asked for the camera like moving my eyes specific ways.

It depends on the plugin and there’s more than one that does this. You’d think a Holo would invest in their equipment though. Even my friend’s $2k-ish gaming pc can do this on their really complex model. They’ve showed me IRL how the plugin they personally use works.
