The new box fan I bought rattles, but only when it's set to a lower speed. If I have it on full blast it's fine.
It came with a little card that says if I have any problems I should contact them, the manufacturer, rather than returning it. Is this even worth the effort or should I resign myself to having it on full blast (which is a bit much) or not at all, or just dealing with the rattling
Should I try opening it up and tightening things? Apparently this kind of rattling can be caused by things not being perfectly balanced, in which case there isn't much I can do.

I tried some of the obvious things like making sure it's on stable ground and steadying it/feeling if there's any obvious shaking that can be stopped by me holding things in place. No dice.

Any config tips to make wayfarer a bit unhinged like deepseek r1?

I use R1 now but I noticed in the past that V3 can be wrangled similarly.
I had a similar issue where it would always end its messages with a question or statement like "What will you do?" or "Your move." I found the best thing to do is just to not overthink it, these models are pretty good at following instructions, though they get worse with bigger contexts.
I just added this sentence to my prompt and it just went away (though some of its endings are still shitty, it likes to explain that characters are "Waiting. Trembling." or whatever).
IMO, DeepSeek's strength lies in its uncensoredness. It means you're not hunting for magic phrases or trying to evade filters, you can just tell it what you want like an idiot.

Good to know, for now I'll yoink your prompt template, and experiment a bit. One last question though: I set up my context size as 40k and response length as 4k, is that correct? I googled V3's context size and it said something like 120k+, so I undershoot it a bit.

Is chutes.ai charging for AI models now?

Did they add some sort of daily/weekly limit or something to Copilot?
I'm definitely running out of quota very fast, but at the same time I can cycle between my 3 tokens with no issue, so whatever new limit they added also seems to recharge pretty fast.

It depends on where you're getting your DeepSeek, generally. Some services have lower limits or are prohibitively expensive. I'm using OpenRouter and DeepSeek is so cheap that I have it cranked all the way up to 164k input, 8k output.

You can never truly trust companies it all comes down to whether you trust them enough to do what they claim to do.

First you have open router who claims to anonymize requests to providers so they can't be tied to individual accounts. They also don't log unless you explicitly allow them to. They do however for billing purposes have to record token counts of each request along with a timestamp and a unique identifier of each request. But like I mentioned they don't have logs of what exactly was said in those exchanges.

Next you have providers, these are Chutes, openAI, and the likes. They all have different data retention and privacy policies. If you're using a free model like say deepseek, then it's definitely getting logged. LLM devs have pretty much devoured every piece of literature they can get a hold off. That's every book ever published and every forum posts ever made. The only place left to find new literature is to generate them with AI and you're doing it for them by using their service. Paid providers offer more privacy and Open router will tell you which ones have a no log policy. However these are just claims, Open Router (as far as I can tell) doesn't actually audit providers. In fact Open Router doesn't actually audit if providers really are connecting you to the model they promised. So far the only thing we have to go on is a providers reputation. Bigger corporations like OpenAI and Anthropic have different rules regarding the use of their API. They are well aware that their API clients want privacy and keeping logs can backfire. So they don't train on user data by default. That said, it doesn't mean they don't keep logs in some situations. OpenAI and Anthropic for instance scans for violations and once an account is flagged then everything is monitored more closely. Meanwhile, Google is Google. In all practicality though you're probably safe. OR already does a lot by anonymizing requests, correlating specific prompts to an account probably/maybe/i pray takes a considerable effort that isn't worth doing unless you're important enough or a big enough offender. I guess the only thing you shouldn't really touch are deepfakes of celebrities.

What worries me is if they're keeping some easily-readable database of "user X prompted Y" that can be easily tracked if/whenever there is a data leak (i.e. big corpos selling your data). I'm not really familiar with the specifics of Stripe. If they share as little as possible then that's good. But my original point was crypto is becoming deceptively anti-privacy. Major coin exchanges accepted KYC and regulations in order to go mainstream. By doing so they lost one of their unique advantages and are now really not any more private than other payment methods.
