Now even streamers that I never expected to use avatars are using them, and I'm starting to realize I have no design sense. Even this guy's avatar seems to fit the mold of what's expected of this field. I just can't design for shit. I have no sense of design whatsoever. Is it the ears? I wouldn't want to use them, but even this guy has something ear-shaped from those headphones. And tons of other characters have cat ears. The bright, neon-pastel colors? The shape of the eyes? I just can't seem to parse all the ingredients that make something acceptable, yet still fall within what I want. Maybe I just gotta throw out my preferences for simple and basic and try doing crazier shit. Also, probably commission someone to make an avatar of my design like he probably did.

I'm working on my model currently, I have been struggling with the artwork because video and visual text tutorials are insufferable for a neurodivergent but I just found out via VGen that people sell study files which is exactly what I need to learn how to cut my layers.

Downside is I do not have an income or money right now so fuck me.

I need to stop being so anxious and in my head about everything being perfect for the start, I'm not my peers. I am not netting almost 500 viewers per stream who are just throwing mad cash and subs at me to where I can have the shiny perfect overlays and logo and entire set up ready to go day one.

I've seen study files on sale on ko-fi as well, in my case for mouth rigging. I've also seen in some tutorials on youtube (especially if they are multi-part), the creator posts the study files for free if not very cheap. Even if you don't follow the whole tutorial, they'll usually briefly go over the files to start with which will be a good point for you to bounce off of.
