Doki's always wanted to host events, so she started with small branchwide events for games like minecraft, etc. She did a bunch of events that slowly grew in scale...
Then at the end of last year she organized an intercontinental apex event that included top esports players as well as vtubers from all of the world. She even got some from VSPO and Neo-Porte.

None of the vtubers, holos mostly I mean, are idols anyway in ways that matter. Compared to them, even early vtubers were more idol like than them. Doing skits, dancing, singing but doing it all from scratch hoping to make it big. Vtuber idols nowadays start out big with giant corpos behind their backs, they don't dance or if they do it's obviously some hired person in mocap, singing isn't done live most of the time and it's all about shilling merch and earning as much as possible. Idols are fun because it's some sexy young adult doing shit herself etc, in vtuber "idols" it doesn't apply. Some vtubers are like idols, but they are an exception and some are decent singers but that's about it.
