They feel fake because they choose what to talk about in a very calculated manner. Add in that the two of them talk to each other sometimes more than they read and talk to chat, and it feels a lot different than your average regular stream from another member. They used to shut each other down on topics often because they wouldn't know where the other was going, but lately they've done a little bit better of a job letting the other read a comment in the chat and just kinda talk for a minute at the chat about whatever it was.
Even past that though, they 100% have a much more 'reserved' feeling which makes them feel very disconnected outside of some rare instances or game streams.
