I think so. The main difference between independent and under a company is reach and resources. You can't rely on them to advertise for you, which can make it difficult to grow further.
When they leave and become indie, they take a portion of their audience with them, but then it's up to the streamer to prove to the audience that they're still worth watching without that financial or communal backing.

Future corpos like Holo will be used as testing ground around 2~3 years for networking and experience, and those that want to leave will graduate and be an Indie. The corps will keep the character IP for their benefit, while the chuubas can get more freedom if they want.

The key factor is whether we like the character managed by the corps or the chuuba themselves. As we know Fauna and Nimi isn't really the same...

If you look at any of Mori‘s recent ramblings, there’s something wrong with how YouTube is propagating her content even though she streams a lot and she puta out a wide variety of content. and it’s just not reaching people also it’s not even reaching her subscriber base. a lot of people have noticed that they just don’t know about stuff unless literally checking her page manually instead of getting notifications/alerts.
