Rena had been playing Mega Man 2 before that and was in the Mega Man 2 category so merely checking retro yesterday wouldn't have found her if things were the other way around. Similarly Runa uses FF7 when she's playing that and Charlotte's using super mario 64 right now.
Retro chuubas do tend to group around the retro category of course most of the time and there isn't much more someone can do beyond doing as you say unless we want to go in and put something together ourselves.
