from my experience a talk won't help, just time and introspection. i wish talking honestly helped but egos get involved, neither side wants to admit fault or even if they do it seems like just another power play. she just needs to get back to earth, realize she still loves you, that her duties are more important than her whims, etc.

the cycle i went through with my sister for months now was something like this. we talk normally, she can't handle disagreement (perhaps i disagree condescendingly, fine), she starts yelling, i yell back, she throws stuff at me or just yells harder. then she goes and tells her one sided story to her boyfriend while i tell mine to mom. she tells me to not gossip about her and then i call her a hypocrite for doing the same to her boyfriend. then we don't talk to each other for awhile, calm down and act like nothing ever happened except perhaps jokingly exchange jabs about it.

basically i think your mom is in the phase of gossiping about you to her friend. it won't really accomplish much except regulate her emotions a bit. you're doing the same to us now, too. the real healing will come from the calm after the storm and tomorrow will be alright. that is what i assume and hope at least. what's most important is not doing anything silly and doing any permanent damage, but exchanges of words can nearly always be healed.

Im not gossiping, thats my whole point. This whole time ive done nothing but say I love her but her going through my phone was a bit far. It's ok to take family time kiki. I can understand her having a strong reaction if she's finding out (or confirming) all at once that people are talking about how she's acting. Even if it's out of concern, sometimes it's a shock to find out, or embarrassing, and people can overreact because of that. That she would go through your phone suggests she already suspected people were talking about her, which suggests she already knows something is wrong.

Hopefully that was just the big pulling the bandaid off event, and when the initial pain settles down just a little bit, everyone can settle into humbleness again.

i think deepseek is pretty good. it is more "free" than the rest but still "grounded" in facts. its easier to get it to go along with crazy ideas while not getting lost in the rabba hole. chatgpt is too much of a hypeman and will easily start to stray away from "facts" with out trying at all. grok is like deepseek but a little more constrained (both in "freedom" and "usage") so its pretty good if you have a crazy idea and you need to double check if you have gone too far.
both deepseek and grok have a "think" feature that forces them to spend more time processing the prompt/request
gemini is a search engine you can talk too. gemini is the kind of person that you go up to with your crazy idea and its response is something like "yea kid. pretty cool. now let the adults play". it has alot of constraints due to how they incorporated their search engine into it when it comes to staying "factual"
with all of them though, you need to set up proper constraints and guides using logic so it doesnt "stray away". its still a computer

I get all that, it's always been very clear to me that doing the things I enjoy doing commercially would be very different than doing them for pleasure. I think it depends on what you're doing, but there's really a lot of room between getting paid to sit on your ass and do nothing and being some hyper-competitive rockstar at the top of your field. Some jobs want that, or will reward that, but for many you just kind of need to get the work done and you don't need an insanely high level of competence or motivation to do that.
