When they do, people don't show up. You're asking for less attention if you actually play games you like instead of whatever is popular at the moment. Sometimes it lines up with your interests, like Kiara playing Exp 33 or Yakuza, but more often than not it results in shit like her playthrough of the zelda adventure game people didn't like. Another great example is FWMC with VN. Any time it's a 'regular' VN stream (not tied to song release/ad), no one would show up.

They're terrible with VN and I hate it. They only play it for special occasions, outside of Fate which didn't have a theme or reason.

I didn't, that series was the only one that they didn't do because of some weird need to theme VN streams. Although that was apso the set of streams where Moco-chan stupidly said "We don't want to be known as the twin vtubers who play Fate Stay Night" in regards to talking about playing it all the way through. They even joked about jeeping it locked away to members with 'Fate Fridays' to not have it overclutter their channel, but we can see how serious they were about that.

I don't even remember her playing more than a handful of non-gacha games other than Lobotomy Corporation and Library of Ruina (which were prequels to a gacha game).
There are thousands of indies playing it as just a FOTM game, but for Ebi, that's literally her channel's bread and butter.
