Hi /innit/, I'm on a kick of making MTG Commander decks out of Holomems. I made one my first oshi Kaela already, and now I'm working on Liz! I think picrel is far and away the most 1:1 to ERB in terms of appearance and color identity, but I'm blanking on how to build the actual deck's theme. Was originally trying for Knights or Soldiers but what does ERB scream in terms of card archetypes and mechanics to you all?

I don't have much knowledge of card games, but I think the archetype shown here would actually be pretty good fit for Liz. Something like her singing being a buff for people to be able to both charge in battle or heal would make sense. I guess could try to fit some theme with the big ass sword as well and give her piercing damage if that's available

For the 99, you can go for anything that can represent all of justice so CC/GG/Rao/Kronii. RW leave you with a lot of choice for them, don't be chained to a singular creature type (like you can easly slot some W cats for Raora, Artifacts for CC, etc).

I have 0 MTG knowledge so no idea if it could pan out in game, but I think the idea of Liz summoning smaller minions and fighting alongside them fits her well. Technically all Rosarians are her shield so maybe like a generic effect of can be tributed for -1 damage taken, there's also like the blazearians would are blacksmiths and could be a +1 damage to her next attack. The buffing effect on that example card also works pretty well and could extend to like the guards getting buffs from her. In terms of aesthetics I think a standard medieval fantasy kingdom works well for us.

W (acronym for the color white) is known for creating token creatures (usually 1/1 stats), so it's not an unfeasible idea.
Red (or R) can also create token creatures, but they're usually all goblins.
Keep also in mind that token creatures usually don't have additional effect on them, so you need something else (usually an enchantment - imagine it as the "Field Spells" from Yu-Gi-Oh) for give this "extra stuff" to all your creatures.

I picked this particular ERB both because it has Justice right there in the name and because where the others are red-haired ladies with swords, the anime print of Exemplar of Justice specifically adds *flames* to the swords so we have Thorn in the imagery. Granted the deck will also have Thorn in the form of Embercleave (picrel), which for those who don't know MTG, is basically a really expensive and strong sword that can be equipped the moment it hits the field that gets cheaper to play the more creatures you have. I really do think with ERB she should be about going wide (having a ton of attackers) rather than going tall (having only a few really big attackers) or voltron (making one super strong singular guy the whole deck is about) but I'm still open to any further suggestions. Anyway, thanks for the feedback!

Update! I've at least achieved my first pass at a basic 100. I decided that rather than directly try to incorporate each member of Justice I'd have 2-3 creatures that represent each of Justice's fanbase. Cats for Chattinis, Goblins for Grems (there are Gremlins but they focus on artifacts), Toys and Golems for Otomos, and Human Warriors/Soldiers for the Rosarians. Funnily enough, this resulted in an *exact* split of 40/60 Humans to Non-Humans for the Creatures, which makes pic related an excellent addition to the deck. Overall the deck's theme is making a very large army, having ways to protect said army, and typically finishing by having the giant army charge forward with multiple combats to win games.
