Randonneuring (also known as Audax in the UK, Australia and Brazil) is a long-distance cycling sport with its origins in audax cycling. In randonneuring, riders attempt courses of 200km or more, passing through predetermined "controls" (checkpoints) every few tens of kilometres. Riders aim to complete the course within specified time limits, and receive equal recognition regardless of their finishing order. Riders may travel in groups or alone as they wish, and are expected to be self-sufficient between controls. A randonneuring event is called a randonnée or brevet, and a rider who has completed a 200km event is called a randonneur. The international governing body for randonneuring is Audax Club Parisien (ACP), which works with other randonneuring organisations worldwide through Les Randonneurs Mondiaux (RM). Randonneuring is popular in France, and has a following in the Netherlands, Belgium, the United Kingdom, Italy, Australia, the United States, Canada, Brazil, Ireland, India, Indonesia, Korea, Japan and Malaysia. In the late nineteenth century Italy, day-long "challenge" sports became popular. Participants aimed to cover as much distance as possible and prove themselves audax ("audacious"). The first recorded audax cycling event took place on June 12, 1897, when twelve Italian cyclists attempted the challenge of cycling from Rome to Naples, a distance of 230 kilometres (140mi), during daylight hours. Similar events became popular elsewhere, and in 1904 French journalist Henri Desgrange produced Audax regulations, which belonged to his Auto newspaper. Under the Audax regulations, riders rode as a group. Successful riders were awarded a certificate called a Brevet d'Audax. A group of successful audax cyclists formed the Audax Club Parisien (ACP), which took over the organisation of Audax events on Desgrange's behalf. In 1920, there was a disagreement between Desgrange and the ACP. Desgrange withdrew ACP's permission to organise events under his Audax regulations, and ACP created its own allure libre (free-paced) version of the sport, where successful riders were awarded certificates called Brevets des Randonneurs. This style is now popularly known as "Randonneuring".

Randon Neuring is a battered shell of an orc that works at a barely above entry-level position in an undisclosed e-commerce company. He used to be some kind of bandit, but a mounted knight stabbed him through the liver with a lance and ran him over with an armored warhorse. He wears a loosened necktie(with a pattern based on one of his three hobbies) and a long-sleeved collared shirt with the sleeves rolled up. He's tall and beefy, still over six feet tall when he's hunched over like orcs do. He wears cheap, featureless eyeglasses that he buys from Costco (his favourite store) every three years. Randon isn't his real name, he doesn't want his real name on the internet. He chose the name because it's a pun, Randonneuring is a style of semi- competitive bicycling. He enjoys cycling, fishing, and golfing in that order. Golfing tends to bring out his inner orc rage so it's his least favorite hobby. Despite suffering from clinical depression, he does get excited about his hobbies and other things that interest him and has a tendency to ramble on about those things. A “secret weeb”, is Randon Neuring.

Cas talked about that recently then deleted the VOD.
He said he doesn't like how he's been spreading himself too thin with other projects (prof vid, podcast, Sinking Down, birthday prep) in recent months, and streams (and his health) have suffered as a result. He thought he could pimp himself out in the classroom again so funds aren't as tight, but he's been sick of it for years and all he wants is to vtube.
Note that this (spreading himself too thin and people complaining about him phoning it in) echoes the situation in 2023 when VG came out. Things weren't going well, so he scrambled back to his PL as a safety net while trying to put on a brave face, then scornedmites dragged him for two-timing them. (He talked about that in a big PL loredrop stream months ago and hinted at it again for a fleeting moment in this recent one.)
