I'm not sure I truly prefer either style. More rigid ones might be better because they have an advantage in how easy it can be to make them look decent, that is pure conjecture btw, but ultimately both are all right.
Kanna's new one just gives me whiplash with that rigging, which might be because the older one was simpler.
