It's not a great setup for these kinds of games at all, which is a shame because I do enjoy watching her play these old Wii games
She could fix the shaky hands/distance issue with a shorter sensor bar (the fov of the Wiimote is too small to "see" both LEDs if you're too close) but I doubt there's any way to obtain a short sensor bar without modifying it yourself nowadays, not at all difficult but not something Nimi is likely to do

the sensor bar is literally just two IR led's, all the important hardware is in the wiimote. You can make your own sensor bar with two candles on top of your TV. If you dont want to burn down your house there is a huge aftermarket too.

It's actually 10 LEDs, 5 in each side with 2 at an angle. Candles suck for any accuracy, that was just a meme party trick back in the day, nobody actually used it.
The best thing to do is remove the internals, cut the middle of the sensor bar out and put the internals back in leaving the 2 halves separate so you can adjust their distance
