Not gonna sugarcoat it but I like playing Nightreign and Umamusume, so I personally try to catch more of these streams every now and then.

That said, only a few of them are actually active on horse racing, like doing dailies and updating their accounts (Kaela, Ollie, and Ina going hard). Surprisingly, Bijou and Gigi are in category of not really playing that much unless they have a main account separate from their stream account.

Cece is also not into this type of gameplay, and strongly unlikely to play this on stream, if at all. She's already not really motivated to play games that she's lukewarm on, even with a gimmick.

Are you saying you enjoyed Dark Souls 2? Elden Ring has its problems, but I'd take it any day of the week over DS2. Easily the worst Souls game by a country mile for me.
Either way, Nightreign is very different from any other Souls game due to the format so I don't think it's comparable. What I enjoy about it is that it's fast and you don't need to spend 100 hours with the same build. It's fun for players who want to experiment and focus on co-op. Just jump in and spend 20 minutes trying to cobble a build together.

To add to this, I'd say a lot of intrinsic fun is a lot of "optimization" and improvisation to figure out each run. I think it gets mislabeled and mis-marketed as a roguelike on paper, but it definitely runs off the idea of trying to make the best of your situation, rather than normal Souls where it's more about RP and having a build come together.

I didn't even mind the awful graphics or the ridiculously surreal levels in DS2. It was just not fun to play. Take the most lauded fight in the game, the samurai dude in the DLC. What the fuck were they thinking with the run-up? It's just difficult and time-wasting for its own sake. (And let's not even talk about the snow fields, or that area with the spitting poison statues.) The hurt-boxes are also just terrible.
Anyway, no harm no foul. I respect DS2-enjoyers even if I disagree with them.
As for Nightreign, I think the running around gets a bit too much attention. There's diminishing returns. If you're extremely efficient, you eventually simply cap out on XP. There's no need to rush that much. As long as you reach around level 12 on day 3, you're good. I'd say getting a build with decent substats is more important, plus knowing the bosses of course. A lot of regular DS/ER's charm is in taking it slow and absorbing the atmosphere, so I completely understand how NR might rub some players the wrong way. Still, I find it fun.

Yeah, I quite like that you can't just sit there and take your time to find out what is exactly the correct choice every time. You have to think on your feet and adapt on the go. This can be challenging, but can also appeal to experienced ER/Souls players who have an intuitive understanding of what works and what doesn't.
Also, MP makes things funny. I love seeing what other players come up with, and how they deal with situations. In mainline Souls games, I tend to avoid MP because it either makes bosses too easy, and then ironically much harder in the regular areas due to invasions. NR is more balanced in this regard since it's designed around co-op.

Anyway, enough NR shilling from me.

I hate DS2, but it is among my most anticipated stream games for Ceci. I am so curious what she thinks of it.

Nightreign definitely allowed me to explore regular mainline mechanics I never felt inspired to try a full run out just to see if I liked it. I've never bothered to use sorceries or bows for example. And a lot of the weapon types too for that matter, like daggers.

Yeah, I forgot to mention set characters too. They all play quite differently and while I don't think they'd fit in a normal Souls game, they're great for NR. They give your run a bit of direction. Daggers with Duchess' "trigger on dagger combos" skill gives a huge incentive to use them for example. And Ironeye is like a completely different game for bows.
Recluse in particular is a lot of fun with infinite mana. So many different spells.

That is how she has done things for her entire time she's been in Holo, and probably a bit more from PL.
The reason why it hasn't done anything from our perspective is because it was stuff that doesn't majorly interfere with her schedule (For instance, Nevermore has been in the works since who knows how long, but probably since at least GG's medicine cover)
Thus, once she is no longer in Japan, and thus isn't in the studio recording 3D for hours, it'll be back to normal.
Also, it's probably recording for CC Debut + Justice Collab + HoloEN Concert + any sololives and prerecorded events she wants to be in. That'll be cut in "half" next year.
