It just gives you a chore to visit few statues you've seen throughout the game for minor treasure and absolutely nothing beyond that. Spinner suffers largely from the same.

the spinner puzzles are more fun than the rod ones too in my opinion as they require more effort but also have some fast pace to them while the only good rod puzzle isn’t even a puzzle it is getting to walk a giant hammer back through the dungeon you did smashing everything

You might never see the insane numbers that the biggest streamers get, but you'll always have a relatively loyal fanbase.
Even if twitch, kick, and youtube itself were to die, you would still find retro vtubers making do somehow.
It's an interesting phenomenon. I'm not quite sure why it is this way.
