I'm originally a councilRyS fan (still am) who watches a number of indies too. I always preferred box content because I like cute girls being goobers together. The corpo structure helps/pushes these shy and socially awkward girls make content as a group.
Then Cover made Fauna and Moom leave. I was livid but I could understand "disagreements with management" etc.
After today I'm ready to assume the worst about every corpo. I guess it is the reality of a young, unregulated industry with unexperienced young women as its labor force. Absolutely rife with opportunities for all kinds of financial and other abuse by the likes of Gunrun, Riku and the behated managerial type.
The fandom needs to wake up as well, push against brand loyalists and bootlickers. If every fan has a talent first mentality, it will empower the talent who are under constant pressure, be it not owning their IP, getting bullied, sexually harassed, or being swindled for their hard earned money.
