Vshojo didn't hold the IP rights to any of their talents, so this case is a bit different than if Hololive or Nijisanji went down.
On the other hand, the Nimi thing won't really be that big either. Any potential change it could bring about to the industry has already taken place. The EN indie scene has long already moved towards vtubers just being twitch streamers with a costume. Many have little to no connection to the anime niche that spawned vtubers, or the original scene, or care for the idol direction a lot of the early JP corpos took vtubing. Nimi's announcement is just more shocking to the people here given her history.
