As an industry observer I'm honestly super curious about how the upcoming US economic crisis is going to affect VTubers & the VTubing industry in general.
Cuts from salaries & all the socialist benefits from US citizens would drastically reduce their spending capacity.
Tariffs & the eventual devaluation of the dollar would also mean inflated prices for US fans to buy stuff from Japan/Asia, who are far less attached to the concept of "oshi", and so won't spend over their limits.

Since Coco left, Hololive has been more focussed on IP related activities in Japan & even let Omega tank the EN branch until someone woke up and started course correcting.
But even now, it feels like the loss of 3 of their top EN talents has not had much of an impact on their EN fanbase.
Hell, Aqua's graduation was probably a much bigger loss for Hololive as a whole.
The savvier ENs who can feel the changes have all moved to Japan, since most of the consumption is starting to be done by JP fans. Once Yen rises in value it'll start showing even more.
It's also likely that US tries to strongarm/pressure/coax the Japanese into buying crypto to dilute their losses - but considering their society, I can't see that catching on at a mass scale.
I suppose there's a lot of spending from Taiwan for EN, but if US lets China take Taiwan then even that will be in question.
If SEA currencies also proportionally increase in value, I suppose there'll be some increase of revenue from there as well.

It's going to be fascinating to watch if/how Phase, EN indies & other small EN only corpos survive the upcoming crisis.
