This is purely a hypothetical situation.
So let's just say you are a founder of prominent vtuber group, and presumably a share owner due to you being instrumental in the creation of that group.
Let's say your boyfriend ends up being the COO of the group (the same COO that all the other talents cite as having a pivotal role in making it shit).
Let's say the company is not profitable (yet), but there are rumors of possible investment in the future, investment that would make your shares much more valuable, and which you would materially benefit from.
Let's say that your COO in an attempt to squeeze out some more time on this sinking ship before the ultimate payday, begins throwing out shittier and shittier contracts, pressuring talents to sign hot garbage, in order to hopefully secure some "whale" talents who sign to keep this siphon going. You look past it, and say nothing (it's in your interest, otherwise the whole company would go tits up).
Let's say your COO figures that to keep the company salient, to not pay you, but you look past it, because in the event that the investment comes in, you will make bank, and the whole situation will turn around.
Let's say more time passes, and the fundraising still hasn't materialized. Management similarly begins not paying other contract workers (talents). You also stay quiet, and say nothing out of fear it would blow back towards you, considering your COO connection. Maybe, just *maybe* the situation can improve, and everyone can be paid back, and "it just works itself out", somehow.
Now the lid is off and everyone is pointing fingers in every which direction.
How complicit would you be in this situation? How much would you be freaking out right now?
inb4 nice fan fiction
