The players are staying memes. Selfposting in other threads really isn't relevant. I can tell you this as the guy who has been managing the team for a few leagues now and spending a lot of time around those teams. Literally nobody cares about who is and isn't being promoted on the team. Also, players are not strictly restricted to one vtuber per slot. For instance, I can imagine a situation where we have aspies who are frequently together (Like Mawg and Ace simply as an example) on the same player driving a car or something. Players in PES are just 3d models so if there's a way to imagine the instance as a model we can work it out. Don't sweat the board politics too much. If there are creative ideas you want to see for players please feel free to give them to me.

Followers and viewers are two different sets. They may intersect (followers who view you or category viewers or tag followers that pop in) but chasing just one in particular may be a monkey's paw situation. Streamers that chase followers may have been streaming a long time but their CCV and offline interactions are low and stagnant. Streamers that chase viewers with easier claims to viewership like ASMR or some flavor of the month fluke might find that once they pivot to a passion game/project, that support drops.
At a glance if you were to stream Shin-chan right now, you'd be the only english speaking stream on Twitch, and likely among the top 2. That could be an under-served audience, and the real estate is ripe for the taking. Whether it's valuable compared to streaming something else, that will be a judgment on your part.

NTA. I keep advising people that the ideal YouTube Short should be no longer than 12 seconds, especially if it is just a clip from a stream or video. If you don’t have a dedicated audience, 15 seconds is about the maximum length of time you get from someone scrolling through content. But you want them to spend three more seconds on a 12 second Short as opposed to 15 on a 15 second clip for the algos. Short content strategies for established vtubers must differ from those used by vtubers still trying to build an initial audience.

Your Shorts will depend on your content strategies so a grain a salt for all advice here. It’s nice to have an instant hook as noted below, but it doesn’t always work. I stand by the 12 seconds thing for most clipped content; aiming for greater than 100% on average viewed is great for the algos, it seems. If you are clipping from longer content, link back to it (especially if you have the longer content on YouTube). That wasn’t a feature when I started out, so do make use of it. Try to show movement in your videos. That could be from the gameplay if applicable, or from editing. Movement catches the eye and makes people wonder what will happen next. Zooms or scrolling can work well enough for the lazy. It’s good to make the edits emphasize your brand or content. You can add sound effects, background music, images, or cuts to emphasize something. That all adds value and can get people to click on your other content. Finally, the hashtags… Hashtags suck, but you want to pick three. If you can fit them into the title, do so. Even Mori just put “#Shorts” on the end of her recent Short title. Add them to your video descriptions too; it might help or it might not, but better safe than sorry. Then for tags, add those three hashtags and any relevant variations. Horror game, horrorgames, horror gaming, horror, gaming, etc. It helps to be consistent with categories. If you make a gaming related short one day and a comedy related one the next, the algos might punish you a bit. Oh. Perhaps most importantly is timing. Don’t spam the Shorts feed with several Shorts at once. No more than one a day unless you have an established audience that will click them from the subscription feed. That might even be too many. And speaking of timing, try to post them at different times of the day; thinking about your demographic’s free time or pick some times where fewer people might be posting to see if you can get more attention in the off hours. I prefer the latter strategy.
tl;dr: 12 seconds, add movement/edits, emphasize your character/brand qualities, try different times to see what works best for your content.
