Like she points out in the last paragraph, the actually big companies like Hololive and Nijjisanji can do the same shit she does for much cheaper because a lot of the costs are already sunk costs for them. They don't need to pay to rent a 3D studio, they have their own with staff they already pay, they would be wasting money not to do debuts because they have to pay the staff either way and the 3D studio they already bought years ago would just be going unused and depreciating in value. Lots of 3D assets can get reused between many shows and debuts instead of being built from scratch for each and every event. The more they use it the better value they get out of it. The economics of renting vs owning are just completely different.

To them, 3D debut is more of a very specific, special kind of stream/video, just like how some vtubers consider themselves pre-debut. It's meant to be a celebratory milestone or something. Usually they try to make the 3D debut something personalized and is expected to represent them long into the future.

Personally, my favorite examples of 3D debuts are Fuwamoco, Gavis Bettel, and Shiori's. Each one was extremely important and well thought out in portraying exactly what kind of streamer they wanted to be known as. It's true that Cover pays for everything in the debuts (there is a cap, though). However, Holo members still get free studio sessions, studio staffs and studio assets after their debuts (have to apply for it and the wait is usually long, admittedly). They also might get one new asset created for them (can "buy" more using their internal accessory points earned by attending official events) each time. They do have to pay for everything else on their own, but those are generally optional.
That's why Kiara'd rather delay her 3D live for months to use Cover studio to save money instead of just using an external studio

If I tell specifically one of them how much I want to take all of them to that place with me, and then start making preparations to do so, and right before I'm about to set it up said "friend" already did it but without me, then yes, that's bullying. I can no longer have that experience with them. The friend knew about what I wanted, how much I wanted it, and how I was in the process of making it happen.
