It is a valid question. The truth is that Selen was a "good victim." - Popular, well liked, and by and large blameless optically. Zaion was not a "good" victim in this sense. She check all the boxes we demand of a "good" victim, and that made it all the easier for Nijisanji to kill her. It is absolutely not fair.

Niji was the mastermind of Zaion's unpersoning, but what sealed the deal was unfortunately the cowardice of her old indie friends who were afraid of angering this massive mega corporation. Cyyu, Bao, and others suddenly pretended that they never heard of Sayu. And because of this, Nijisanji thought they could pull the same thing off against Selen.
