The tickets are too expensive. Good seats are $200 a night when you factor in Ticketmaster fees. If you're traveling then it's going to basically be like taking a vacation. Meanwhile the 2day streaming pass is only $100.
People know the show is mostly recorded and some live bits and there's no special value in attending. You can't meet the girls or see them in person or even have them speak to the crowd. Unless you really want to attend an energetic movie showing, it's just not that valuable blowing $1k to visit NYC.

Unlike normal concerts or the world tour, this concert is fully streamed and available on VOD. Also, unlike holofes, there isn't a huge hololive convention tied to this concert. The live venue tickets are just there for people who want to go meet other holofans and swing penlights. The streaming tickets being a quarter of the price are way better value. Both viewers get the same show.

The reality is these people bought too many tickets, and no one knows where to buy them. I want to go, i waited online like everyone else. I was planning a vacation to see manhatton to coincide with this concert. But the concert sold out in seconds... even with chase prefered (yes i have a chase credit card). So i simply stopped paying attention. i too heard about the brat's scooping up the tickets "to protect them from scalpers" and their plans to pioritize their own discord. Well I'm not part of their discord. nor am I a brat. so i just memoryholed it and bought the online streaming tickets.

Would i have liked to go to NYC? sure. but that concert is in 20 days. I'm not going to get plane tickets, hotel reservations, time off of work, AND hunt down some scummy asshats who scooped up the tickets to pay in some shady ass 2nd hand method. I mean how do i pay them? cash? fuck that noise. and i'm not giving them a cc number.

That's not accurate, though. That only happened long afterwards. They were selling it in their own Discord before people and eventually Bae called it out and they had to damage control. In fact, they still started their damage control attempt by selling within their own Discord still, but opened to other fans who joined that Discord. They do, it's literally the primary and in many cases only way to get tickets to JP concerts.
The problem is that here in our dogshit country ticketmaster has the entire entertainment industry by the balls and there is literally nothing you can do about it. They OWN a majority of the venues in the country, you are required to use them rather than do your own ticket sales. It is next to impossible to escape the problems this causes.
