Their relevance has diminished as the general awareness for drama increased. Nowadays every single drama blows up on twitter and reddit. Even if these grifters wouldn't cover it, everyone would still see it unless they are "tier 1 hiding-under-a-rock" which only applies to some nijisisters.

I do think the OG's (False and to a lesser extent Khyo) contributed heavily towards destroying Niji's reputation in the west prior to Selen Shock. Sisters used to be able to sweep every fucking yab under the rug with basically only this board even being aware of their bullshit, until those channels covered it and created a deserved anti-base outside of here. Hell, back in 2020, Niji had a better rep than Holo due to people just not knowing about them and Holo having that huge taiwan and coco scandal.
People pointed to Niji as a company that already had those growing pains and was more mature about things. And since Niji barely had any mindshare, they just took that as face value.

People who failed to join Holo generally ran to Niji as a second try. (iirc Finana was in the final round of auditions for Myth, Pomu was rejected due to lack of streaming experience, etc)
I really wouldn't be surprised if the only person who specifically wanted to be in NijiEN without applying to Holo first was Selen herself due to not wanting to be singing focused.

The only one I've seen actively do that was Quinn, even saying he'd go back at one point. Anyone else who said anything vaguely similar was more along the lines of "I wish I had another group to work with," but they've generally moved on, Mint especially since she was actively working to have another group for herself. Now she has the sloppies at least, with all 3 of the other members starting to take singing/dancing classes more seriously.
