As for my personal opinions on this, this DOESN'T mean that COVER will necessarily copyright strike derivative works made including these songs, just that COVER doesn't own all of the rights associated with them. This can be clearly seen with "Ash Again" (a joint collaboration between Gura and a songwriter, where he retained rights) and two songs already on the list, "Hacha-Mecha Miracle" (an unnecessarily catchy cup ramen ad in song form) and "Ibasho" (a very early Calli song, done as a promotion for a game and included within it).
This is also good news for chumbuds, as "Full Color" being on this list means that (1) COVER doesn't own the rights, and therefore (2) someone can buy the rights off the company which made the song (and DOES own the rights).
One last note for comprehensiveness: Several of Sora's songs, specifically, all songs on the albums "Dreaming!", "My Loving", and "ON STAGE!", were already on the don't-use list.
