The thing about generic things is that they're generally popular and have widespread appeal. It's not so much that you stand out, but more that lacking those qualities tends to nerf you harder than the generic "good" choice.

For example, if you put a FUCKTON of stickers and shiny things all over your character model, yeah you'll be unique, but it's also ugly as sin compared to a generic blonde haired booba catgirl.

For an example of things that should be great to stand out but don't actually do it, there's pumpkinpotion. She has a completely unique gimmick with her 20's cartoon styled model, but you'd think with such a unique and stylistic model that she'd be on par with the other big name indies like shylily or ironmouse.
She's a high 3view, occasional 4view with raids.

Meanwhile, I saw a generic vrchat-styled fox girl model streaming gachaslop to like 1-2k the other day with drops.
People say they want things unique, but realistically they just fall back on generic safety over time.

Big tits are a lot more flexible and forgiving design wise. They can be perky or sagging and can still work well. As long as they're shapely and form fitting and not look like giant balloon bolt-ons, they'll work with literally any design you can think of. Same goes for regular sized tits.

Pure, pancake flat chest is a lot harder to pull off. You pretty much have to design around the flat chest aspect. Character design has to be close to 10/10 cause you don't have any tits to draw focus on, so other aspects of the body will have to be the center of attention which is harder.

The ultimate truth is that you should adapt them to your own measurements for maximum fidelity, even if you never actually show them off. Same with skin tone, unless you're going for some alien shit or something of course.

It's specially important if you're going for a 3D model so your hands don't end up phasing through your booba or facing a barrier in front of your chest.

doesn't really matter much since most indies don't ever get into 3d. but also the tracking will never be perfect and will almost always clip into you even if your flat its just how it is. while there are was to get around it its just inefficient and never worth the effort/money.

If you're good at a loli voice/ deep handsome female voice then go flat. Otherwise go medium. Only go big if you've mommy qualities, are aiming for architects (need a plump model too) or can successful delve into the gooner/ethot crowd without huge boobs.
