The sets struggling/failing to sell out limited was eye opening to me, I assumed they weren't even half of the revenue of merch sales, but I guess it's actually the large majority. If even Limited isn't selling out, then zero regular complete sets are sold. And while individual items may have decent sales, I doubt they make for most of the sales.
Back when limited sold out instantly I assumed regular complete sold a lot more than Limited, but now I find that very difficult to believe. They weren't selling out with THAT many people missing out.

I can only speak for myself, but yes, for me it makes a big difference to my country in the EU. Always have to look at things individually, it's never easy to tell what some thresholds are.
With FWMC I buy the full limited sets asap when I can anyhow but for others I often wait and try all combinations to see what makes sense.

For example I only bought Biboo's cyberpunk-ish mouse pad and for CC I only bought her otomo cable holder and squeezable otomo toy instead of their sets.

Wouldn't help much with tariffs but could make a big difference in shipping costs at least since they'd ship everything to their own warehouse in bulk and then customers only pay for local shipping with a slight markup to help recoup that initial bulk shipping cost. At least you're not paying Japan->US anymore, you're paying US->US but slightly more expensive.
