They're just waiting on the song because the last time Mori brought it up, she said that she had finished her part of recording. For the longest time they were waiting on lyrics. Mori originally wanted to write it and have the other 2 give her ideas but she was too busy plus UMG being retarded. After sometime passed Mori mentioned she was too busy and they instead wanted a fan of all 3 girls to write the lyrics. Then we jump to the CHaDRock stream where they said they were nearly done, but in a later stream shortly after her birthday she talked about having recording dates set up with CHaD. Deadbeats are cool, because any skeleton shown can be called one. Which often results in hilarity. And our specific design, with coat and headband is pretty sick. Death-Sensei is cute, and I have my own amusing headcanon that it was supposed to be a plain soul orb (Which he monitored his apprentice through) but she made him look cute and put shades on him. The real Death-Sensei didn't know for some time and when he finally saw, he was like "And what is that?" and Mori tried to play it off.

But in terms of actual mascot and fanbases, I think Shiori wins. Yorick is a neat design and all the different classes of Novelite have fantastic merch/lore potential. Along with the growing bestiary of Inkwell.

Both Q and Nezumi Scheme have basically the same design for deadbeats and those are different universes, but Mori liked it so the lore for deadbeats would probably remain mostly similar in all universes. In that recent short where Mori is a student in UwU, the deadbeat (me btw) has the Q design, but is like half the size of a Qbeat. That's why I think deadbeat lore wouldn't change much from the 2 MVs.
