Skimmed the last thread and all I want to say is if you're doing this spend money on a while debut Berial, you should've spent money on audio consultation too. I clicked through the debut and you're just constantly peaking. Add a limiter to your mic and consider not using a headset mic anymore. People will click into a shots model but will immediately click out as soon as they hear your audio quality.

You know, I never got into streaming (the second time) to be "successful", like making money or clout or whatever, it was always just about getting myself to do my work consistently. Now, all that said, I've been streaming in my current setup for a few years now, and I have a small but reliable stable of viewers.

But holy fuck, I just want to talk to someone and pass the time. Literally no one who watches me says anything, I can't even get an answer on if the music volume is ok. I just want to chat with people to make the work sessions go faster..

Are you an artist who mostly does art streams? Because I've seen those go both ways. Silent artists without much audience interaction, and yappers with audience interaction.
If you want some engagement, then try the usual. Write down some interesting things that happen in your daily life, and talk about them while working (Maybe you watched a movie and you have an opinion on it?). At some point, maybe someone will pipe up and ask something or relay their opinion.
If you recently went on a trip, a Just Chatting stream is perfect for talking about it and sharing pictures, people can engage that.
Otherwise, try to engage with communities that feel right to you and befriend their people by talking to them, then acquire their viewership somehow. Maybe VC on their discord server while doing your usual thing?
Talking about food is easy mode for engagement, too. Even asking people what their favorite pizza toppings are and then being opinionated about their choices causes some form of conversation.

That’s probably enough artstyle studies for now. The next mission is to make discord/twitch emotes and welcome screen, new starting/waiting/closing screens, and new twitch panels.
My discord server should be fairly minimalist and mainly for opt-in stream notifications. Then I wouldn’t have to worry and fuss over moderating a server. Stream ideas can be listed on carrd or neocities. I’m looking forward to shilling on neocities, decorating my personal web site, and joining the vtuber web ring. Cheerful times are ahead for this fairy.

No, streaming one hour a week will not help you get more people notice you. If you're only for an hour a week, it's gonna be hard to catch any of your streams and people won't go out of their way to drop everything they're doing at the moment just to see your 1-hour gig.
Stream for at least 2 hours every 3 days a week, that's more reasonable and also will help you get more time to improve on your conversational skills.

There was no new link here, and even if you are just testing yourself on the thing of streaming, if you will not at all post that you are going live anywhere (to not make the argument just be that you should have dropped the link here) you will end up hurting yourself by never aspiring to catch any potential new person. Try to post link and things of that sort for anyone who might want to check you out.

Yeah; or sort of. At the very least you can -not talk about nothing-, and instead go over certain things that you wanted to ever mention or such; things that you had in your mind, so to speak. But that's pretty much it if you don't know how to generate endless speech about things, or you can't bounce off a video game.
Also, if you really just interact with the new viewer, unless you are a cute girl, it will be offputting for anyone to become the center of attention of your whole stream just because they decided to join and watch, so no it isn't about getting that one viewer who chats with you neither, you need to have your own set of things to talk about; because, imagine what will happen if you base yourself around the viewer who can leave at any moment, will you truly go silent for a handful of minutes just because they never answered your last question about a random thing that they maybe didn't feel like talking about but also didn't state?

Absolutely not, the way to grow on twitch is long and consistent streams. If you only stream one hour each week, it is absolutely going to lead to no results; even collabs tend to be multiple hours long, so you will be making it incredibly harder if you can just talk for one hour each week and choose to use that time on streaming. You could get better results by instead doing all the other sorts of offline content.

Instead of using that one hour to speak, write during the rest of the week a good enough script, then during that one hour you make sure that you record it. If possible, don't make your videos one hour long or even more, the algorithm doesn't reward that when you are just starting out, half hour to forty minutes is the sweet spot.
Besides that, which involves speaking, you can always do memeposting on twitter, engagement bait if you are a good enough artist, and similar stuff.

I've been open on the references/inspirations on stream, but I thought it would be fine to post it too. Sorry, this drawing is kinda crummy the COVID is making me feel weak today.

From top to bottom
-Rabbit ears and tail: I am a big Reisen fan, so I thought it would be cool to do the ears and tail like hers. Initially, they were floppy ones like Tewi's ears, but my artist convinced me that the one upright and one slightly flopped was a nicer look. I think if not, a rabbit would have done a penguin or bug or something.
- Helmet: very blatant nod to Girls' Last Tour's Yuuri, but I tried to give it a color scheme like the moon rabbit helmets in Touhou. Initially didn't have the helmet, and I think it was added in super late, if not the last addon. I think it is nice, but I also like it optional because some people like the floofy hair.
- Bandage: It is a nod to Ace Attorney (where my name came from). An Edgeworth nod, I think, wouldn't fit, so I picked one from Gummy. Also, don't patches like that just kinda give a tough/clumsy look?
- Jacket: The style is a nod to one of my favorite VTubers, the late Jitomi Monoe. I wanted to keep the memory alive, so design-wise I made it like her jacket, but made it long sleeve and removed the pockets. Rip Magnet Girl.
- Meteor Medalian-thing: I wanted to make a special zipper. At first, it was a star, but it looked awful. Next, I think it was a comet and I sorta liked it, but not the tail. So I was looking at drawings of meteors, and the one from M&L BIS was perfect.
- Planet Emblum: A reference to my old Cain model! I made the planet have a ring and a moon in that ring to be a pseudo eye patch and added an eye on the other side. Thank you, old friend, for helping me make so many friends
- Pants + Shoes. I wanted something that fit the look overall, and this alt of Moko from Lost Word had some nice flair to it, so I used it as a base and redid it in my own style.

it's normal, you have to build up/have the skills to talk to yourself. even if there's no chatters there's always the possibility of lurkers, so when i first started i tried to minimize dead air and speak about whatever to keep myself/my lurkers entertained. as for streaming an hour a week i'm not sure how much you can grow because it does depend if you do plan to do an hour a week on the same day with a set schedule (posted on twitter/instagram story highlight/youtube community posts even if you don't stream there because there's still an audience for your clip content) vs just going live on a random day. link posting here also helped my viewership, but i only started doing it after I felt more comfortable as a streamer. for figuring out what tags to use you should get a browser extension that shows what other popular vtubers are tagging their videos with and steal them, and probably steal vtuber tags you see on instagram as well. i recommend getting a twitter though because it's very easy to interact with other vtubers on it and get a few eyes on you that way. hope my ramblings help a bit....

Well maybe I can try long streams when people have finals or something coming up, but I can't imagine anyone would need tutoring at the start of the school year or during the summer.
