Too much cynicism in the West and anti-unicorn schizos now outnumber legit unicorns who literally just want seiso streams. Doesn't help that the indie scene is now just one endless pity party for talent that was SHACKLED TO THE EARTH and couldn't PLAY WHATEVER THEY WANTED thanks to the dreaded BLACK COMPANY forcing them to GROW THE BRAND AKA WHAT A CORPO EXISTS TO DO.

It's consolidating. Unicorns will shelter in place at HoloEN or flee to VAllure. Everyone with taste will watch indies.

Streaming is kind of throwaway entertainment, junk food. Not surprising it comes and goes. The revenue is still growing because the more meaningful parts are still engaging, like concerts.
