As for the Pero streams, I personally think they're kind of boring, but I really like how many unusual names I see in the comments for them. It seems to be engaging enough to make people who usually lurk interact, which is really nice, so I like that they exist for that alone.

The problem is that the extreme hardcore merch shoving is part and parcel of what idols are. That's part of what differentiates them from regular performers. I didn't really like holoEN before because I'm not really a fan of the "I'm an anime girl uwu" culture, I don't usually find their humor funny and their karaoke choices are usually not to my tastes, and I felt like they weren't as idol inclined as is my preference, with a few exceptions like Kiara and Bae. It has nothing to do with whores or male collabs or whatever. Not that I like those, but they exist in JP too.
Back during the coof travel ban it just made me even less inclined to spend much time watching EN since they were banned from the most kino things in Hololive because of something completely out of their control. But once the ban was lifted it just became clear that most didn't really care in the first place.
Nowadays I'm a lot more invested in EN because I ended up liking a lot of them as people through FUWAMOCO, but if they graduate I don't see myself become anyone else's fan in EN, I'll just go back to JP.

They (at times and in specific cases) don't like the people their managers report to but if Yagoo does something, he delegates it to those same people that are apparently disliked.
