I really don't get it and can only assume that people like that are either JP purists or new. I never really watched much of her stuff because Kiara was always my pick, but she had a good sense of humor that clicked with a lot more casual fans, her voice and model helped, and she streamed pretty frequently for a good while which kept her popularity soaring. While I think JP is far past EN now-a-days, most of those JP can thank their propel upwards with sub counts and deals to her explosive growth at the start. There's a few talents who still would be doing really well, but your Lunas, your Kanatas, your Akis, etc, would not have 1m subs if not for her being the thing that hooked casual western fans in and got them looking around Hololive.
