Incredibly amateur designs. One of the most basic rules of a good design is being able to recognize the character from silhouette alone (Smiling Friends is a recent good example of this. The Simpsons is the classic example) or at least compensate with memorable accessories. This just looks like a rough first draft. Say what you want about corpos like Hololive or Nijsanji, but they understand basic design rules (talents like Ina with her flaps/tentacles, Salome with the hair curls and ribbons). I would legitimately expect this kind of design from an indie vtuber who just bought their first model for a 2 to 3 grand off of Fiverr. Very bland and very forgettable.

I guess this makes them "marketable"? But sometimes I wish we could just have normal designs without all the weird shit dangling from their head. Instead of letting the design do the talking, let the design be a facility for their personality. If they want to get an outfit update that makes them more marketable, they can do that, like Shiina's crab form.

I like them, but what really matters is the model + voice + mannerism combination.
If any of those three elements doesn't fit, I'm less of a fan.
Same reason why I'm not so hot on some corpo vtubers that went indie and changed their models (one example, Saba), and, on the contrary, I dig some who did more now (Mint).
