depends. There are emotionally fucked up, yet relatively stable vtubers due to hiring good staff that keep them from melting down too often.
Doki's a good example of that. Once she got a team behind her and access to actual therapy, she became a lot more stable, though she's still prone to the occasional outburst.

I'd say most lean towards the mentally ill side, though. The stable and responsible vtubers don't usually get that big because they have real jobs that take up most of their time.

I think he biggest emotionally stable vtuber would probably be Nimi? She seems to take everything in stride and has a healthy normie lifestyle. I can't think of any EN indie or corpo that's close to her size-wise while also being as stoic as she is.

She was a legit farttuber. None of the bullshit soundclips played into obs, fake fart sounds, etc. Found popularity because of it within the community, but a lot of fetishist get eay too retarded and start demanding that ALL you do is the fetish content which really soured her. Had a string of lives past the first big one with varying degrees of success, including one where she may have scammed absolute retards out of a few grand.
I actually kinda liked her beyond the farts when she wasn't going absolutely nuts. She played some fun games and would have a good, chill time in long stream hours with the occasional toot (that I would write down a timestamp for for later use).

The issue with her in that video is calorie counting may not be accurate, but it works for weight loss and gain.

She does say a bunch of wrong things with confidence, like her take on American bread/food not being unhealthy as its got sugar as a preservative. That shit is added to get people to like it, no American food is nowhere near scrutinised or as healthy as EU foods (Some American shit is banned here) and the biggest reason America has sugar in everything, subsidizing the corn industry. The American diet is unhealthy, America has a huge issue with diabetes, meanwhile med countries are the healthiest.
American foodisn't just bad due to portion size, it's just filed with all kinds of nasty shit and highly processed, why she chose to die on that hill is a mystery.

To play devil's advocate, he was pushed into this by the streamers who often come up with a name for the viewers/fandom and tell you what emotes to use as their oshi mark branding etc. Occasionally it comes from the fanbase itself but these days the fans feel like there's an expectation for them to have a fanbase name. Personally I find the whole thing really weird, aside from vtubers (and idols?) few fanbases do this shit. Even for shit like Trekkies, Gene Roddenberry didn't go "okay if you like Star Trek you will call yourself a Trekkie and the Star Trek oshi mark is a star and a rocketship" or any shit like that

Streaming is usually an interactive thing, vtubers need a way to address their audience and just saying "chat" is boring. Giving them a name makes them easier to talk about, easier to represent (with a mascot character or whatever) and gives a stronger sense of community, which is good for the streamer
