I don't think they do. Girls like Kiara and Nerissa have lots of little indie friends and Mint who is a massive indie. I think the perception you have is shaped by insane seamonkeys living in 2020 when the indie/non-holo corpo scene consisted of some /wvt/ tubers with absolutely tiny fanbases, Ironmouse, pikamee and then hololive was like 50,000 or more people on a karaoke.

The catalog of this board is infested with shitposters and antis. Of course you didn't see any discourse there. Most of the discussion was on tower's global and the Kiara and Mint splits.
Gigi's 3D debut was one of the most fun and memorable streams ever produced in Holo and at the time there were like 3 or so catalog posts about it that all quickly died out in less than a day.
Meanwhile bait threads about Nimi continue to be posted weeks after her announcement, with a few even reaching the bump limit. Nimi threads actually managed to outpace the Vshojo drama.
