Is botting views a money generator?
Is there any actual downside to botting?

You get way more exposure on Youtube because of it, more AD revenue money because of the extra fake views, and more chances for advertisers to want to advertise on your channel after seeing your high numbers. Why should you not just do it when it's quite obvious that companies are into it as well?

Youtube doesn't pay based on views. They pay based on ad views and bots are largely filtered during the processing stage that happens after a stream is over (takes 1-2 days)
>Sponsor
Similarly, sponsors usually don't really care much about CCV, but various factors related to their ads instead. You can have 1M CCV and if your CTR is shit they either aren't going to pay you much or won't be sponsoring you again - perhaps both.

Viewbotting doesn't actually generate direct revenue companies use the number to lie to shareholders and other companies they want to do business with so the answer is in a roundabout way it does.
The like botting that holo does is way better for pushing you in the algo which helps more for youtube revenue.

it's like make up. It becomes more visually attractive than what it really is. Investors get fooled

If advertisers catch wind of that happening, they'll pull the plug lmao
There's a reason twitch had to announce they're cracking down on viewbotting harder and that most streamers had their ccv take a substantial hit, because they were getting threatened behind the scenes since they're already on thin ice from all the retarded political streamers bringing tons of bad press to the platform

Not for those looking to cash out quickly. In the long run sponsors and investors will catch onto the bloated metrics eventually, causing a ripple effect throughout the industry.

The Golden Goose is getting gutted right at the moment.

Many sponsors bot streams bro.
They want the numbers to be high because it makes them look good and pushes them on twitch and youtube.
The thing about this modern american economy and culture is it is all about being fraudulent.
When everyone is operating within the spectacle whoever has the flashiest smoke and mirrors that holds the troglodytes attention wins.
Advertisers might be frustrated with this but where the fuck are they gonna go?
TV, radio, and print media are all fucking dead and they can't beam commercials directly into our brains yet.

They won't go anywhere. The payouts will simply go down.

>Pippa: I'll probably stop taking sponsorship streams for a while, after like- other than the ones that I've already agreed to, because sponsorship streams are based on CCV. Like they pay you based on how high your CCV is. So with my CCV being really low again, they're going to- they're going to be like, "Oh, well, we don't got to pay you as much, right?" And it's literally at that point- it's like, "I don't want to do it."

In this world it's bot or be botted upon. She should know.

You do realize a lot of sponsorships streams have the streamer push a code or something for their Audience to use for a discount and the company can easily tell that the sponsorship was a flop because x% of people actually used the redeem code a micro amount of the CCV. You claim CCV is everything but the backend obviously shows the truth

>largely filtered during the processing stage
Yup.
You can tell when you see someone with 10k ccv throughout the stream, then a couple days later you see the total number of views, and it's closer to other people's streams of the same length with half or even fewer number of views.

Sponsors do care about ccv and it is possible to trick some of them with bots both on youtube and twitch. Is it enough to be worth the cost of constantly running bots? Probably not or everyone would do it.

Nice. Feels great to have a normal discussion about who's botted and who's not

It’s dumb how youtube can filter bot views so they dont get ads but wont cull them from the ccv probably because it makes the site look more active like twitch but why not inflate video views then with bot views

It's also because they hire other firms to go hunting for the influencers. So the middleman bots the stream to report back how good it did.

Sponsors have no tools to determine your "real" numbers. A lot of them still rely on sub count and shit like that which does nothing.
