For one, an introduction for the game before the video itself starts. Every game review nowadays (or rather, video essay--because there are barely any real actual reviews nowadays) starts with a little introduction about it, then gets into the meat and potatoes.

Check out some other horror game reviews and find a style you wanna emulate but put your own twist on it, do something you wanna do.

Captions. For shorts and clips, subtitles are good because they also keep the eyes occupied and help with viewer retention, plus--they help the viewer understand what's been said if or when the clipped people slurred their words (which may happen when you're livestreaming, as I'm sure you're aware). Stylized subs are usually not needed for "long form" content unless it's a clip compilation, since you're reading something scripted, but captions are good to have for those.

If you need some help with articulation or finding exercises for it, I recommend checking out Vinh Giang's videos on YT. He even has good shorts about it.

I've noticed I've been getting headaches while streaming lately. I've been drinking alot of juice during stream and while my sleep isnt the best I've gotten enough that it shouldn't affect me.

I think that's because you are contractually obligated to stream for a minimum of 30 minutes a day, 5 days a week, with a minimum total of 30 hours a month. It sounds like a job at that point, which probably betrays most incoming streamers expectations of streaming. Outside of that, I really don't see how else vertical streaming can be tiring.

Funds are entirely dependent on viewer donations, and you only see like 35% of the profits since Iriam takes half of what's left after google and apple. That being said, users get a lot of free currency and the events they have can have you get pretty cool merch and irl collaborations from the look of it. That being said, they're all competitive and only the top 5 during the contest period actually qualify.

It's surprisingly pretty big in Japan, which is the main reason why they are trying to get a foothold in the US market. Main issue it has though is that you can only stream from your phone, and watch streams from your phone. I think the lack of a PC website is what's really hurting their discoverability.

I think their current plan is to get as many streamers as possible and pray that like 5% of them are diamonds in the rough that they can then make merch of and market heavily (the contract allows them to make merch of the design they give you even if you fulfill your quota and stop streaming with them).
That being said, since you're allowed to advertise your alt platforms, but are required to stream on theirs, they could also be banking on streamers bringing in users off their youtube and twitch streams which is actually how I first found Iriam prior to applying

Of all the business models I’ve seen in vtubing theirs is the most confounding. Even if there were a diamond in the rough their platform lacks viewers. If they want to draw from other platforms’s viewers then they would need their diamonds to draw viewers who are interested in vertical streams for long term stability instead of just a focus on the diamonds themselves.

Tiktok and Youtube shorts have made vertical streams pretty popular, with some vtubers even dual streaming vertical and horizontal. The business model doesn't make sense to me either, but from the sound of it, their streaming platform is actually pretty cheap to maintain.

If you want an idea, I'm pretty sure the platform wants you to be parasocial with your audience, since some of the contests can be won with a dedicated whale or two. The latency is also practically nonexistent, which surprised me the first time I had sent a message and the vtuber immediately responded. Felt like I was actually talking to them for a sec.

vertical streaming on youtube/tiktok has more options for content since iriam is just your model, your chat, and whatever gifts they throw at you. iriam does have the bonus of a built in audience and slightly less competition....though I can't say for sure if the audience there is looking for iriam streamers to watch in general or people only going on there to watch 1 specific streamer like I did. it still seems like a nice gig though with the free model you can keep (after x hours of iriam streams), and all and their promo event competitions are cool (even though you need dedicated whales to have a chance at winning one...) like the vtuber branded sake. I've also seen quite a few vtubers do better after leaving their past accounts for iriam personas, and they stream on there and twitch plus network with the other iriam streamers on twitter. I don't think iriam pays for any projects besides the events, so you're effectively just an indie affiliated with the brand though.
