I honestly think it being so easy for them to actually hang out IRL is a big reason for this, along with having enough branch members that you can make a big event with only people who actually have good stream chemistry (like, Mio's 7DtD events are basically just her larger friends group).
But there is something weird about how they interpret RP that I find works better for the JP side... it's like they take different parts of it seriously.

One of the reasons people used splits was because global had so many shitposters/spammers or was too fast. While tower Global is busy it's nowhere near as busy as peak hlgg ever was, reducing the need to go off to splits.
