It's just a personal thing. Maybe Gigi feels unable to relate or communicate as an isolated American where Ceci grew up with more multicultural practice. She's also German and is confident about who she is because as kids if we abided by that strict upbringing they shove on us, we learned to trust that we did everything we could to reasonably exist in any situation like that. Gigi on the other hand didn't grow up like us and didn't have ridiculous standards.
My German Grandma would stress about not making her bed at the hotel while we were eating at Denny's. It bothered her the rest of the day. It's upbringing. At least that's all I can come up with. I was literally the most behind student not just due to thr language barrier when I was 9. American schools are very laid back compared to German ones. Every class there would feel like an AP class in America.
