I suspect a lot of the lonely undatable men are getting their need of intimacy fulfilled by AI chatbots now.

Also, every year it becomes more and more obvious that female streamers loathe their incel fans and wouldn't give them the time of day if they met them on the street.

Part of the allure of vtubers was putting a pretty face on a fugly girl that would hopefully be more appreciative, but it has become evident that fugly chicks hate ugly men as much as stacies.

It should, but the other thing to remember is that there's a lot more vtubers now than there were 4 years ago. That results in more time and money being split across a wide variety of channels, and that's also assuming that vtubing wasn't a fad that many people moved on from.
